The Communications Division with ODFW is hiring for a full‑time permanent Digital Engagement Coordinator at our headquarters office located in Salem, Oregon.

You’ll steer the agency’s social media presence, craft timely and compelling content, and navigate fast‑moving conversations—sometimes in challenging or high‑stakes moments.

Your instincts, judgment, and thinking will directly influence our public image, strengthen access to information, and help our teams communicate when it matters most.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet one of the following options:

  • Option 1:
    Five years experience directly related to the position under recruitment; two of the five years must have been at the professional level.
  • Option 2: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, the Behavioral or Social Sciences or related degree and two years professional level experience in Public Relations or Affairs.

    Skills:

    Confident navigating complex, controversial or politically sensitive situations online, including responding thoughtfully to unhappy customers or members of the public.
  • Trend Awareness and Adaptability:
    Stays current with evolving social media trends, tools, and best practices, bringing new ideas forward to keep the agency’s digital presence modern and effective.
  • Collaboration and Planning Strengths:
    Works seamlessly with the communications team, contributing to planning efforts and helping staff access the information and channels they need to support agency programs.
