Intensive Care Unit - ICU RN - Travel Nurse
Join Total Med as an ICU RN for a travel nurse opening in Salem, VA. The role requires 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and focus on evaluating and monitoring patients in life‑threatening situations.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and monitor ICU patients, documenting physician‑directed care.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; take lab samples.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
- Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
- Communicate patients’ conditions to family members and provide education and support.
- Registered RN with ACLS and BLS certifications.
- 1 year of acute care experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds; endurance for long periods.
- Comfortable working with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
