Job Summary

Registered Nurse at Lewis Gale Medical Center, delivering patient‑centered care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." Provides individualized, compassionate care while collaborating with medical providers and other care team members. Strong staffing support, technology, and resources are available to help nurses focus on patient care.

Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests, anticipates patient needs, and resolves them proactively.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about the patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Instructs patients and families on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management.

• Trauma Nursing Core Course completed within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Bachelors or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS instructor certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Occasional or intermittent presence required.
• No prior nursing experience required.
