Must have: IV insertion in preterm or term infants, Able to work independently with good assessment skills and knowledge of symptoms of declining health in preterm infants, breastfeeding support, strong communication skills
Advanced skills needed: Ability to care for and stabilize critically ill infants needing vent support, CPAP, UVC placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, administer TPN, lipids
Procedures performed on unit: Newborn resuscitation, intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, chest tube insertion, NG/OG feedings,
Certifications
Required:
RN licensure, BLS, NRP
