Job Description
We create products and brands that people trust to clean, sanitize, and protect their homes and pools. The Quality Technician 1 on 3rd Shift (Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 pm – 6:30 am, with additional overtime as needed) will perform a broad range of analytical and physical tests on raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods, and take active ownership of documentation, retains, and routine investigations.

As a Quality Technician, you will interpret data, communicate results to production, and help maintain accurate lab systems, calibration, and retain programs. You will also support safety and housekeeping initiatives and participate in internal investigations.
What You’ll Do- Perform and complete analytical methods (including titrations and other wet chemistry) in accordance with company procedures and project guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Test raw materials and finished products for physical and chemical properties to verify adherence to quality specifications and drawings/specs.
- Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations clearly in lab notebooks, spreadsheets, and quality systems; communicate out‑of‑spec conditions to production and quality leadership.
- Maintain the Quality Retain / First Sample Retention Program, ensuring correct labeling, storage, and disposition of retains and test samples.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization; order and track lab supplies and reagents as directed.
- Perform routine instrument checks and basic calibrations (balances, pH meters, titration equipment, etc.) and document calibration activities.
- Participate in internal investigations and basic root‑cause analysis for non‑conforming product, documenting test data and supporting corrective actions.
- Audit production in-process inspections, including documentation and adherence to quality control test methods and associated specifications.
- Support safety and housekeeping initiatives, following all lab and plant safety programs.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s degree or college chemistry coursework strongly preferred. - Two or more years of quality, lab, or QA experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, product specifications, drawings, and SOPs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry, trending, and basic reporting.
- Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tests and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with fumes/chemicals while wearing required PPE; able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
