Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and accurate refraction.
  • Prescribe spectacles and advise on appropriate lens options based on the patients visual needs.
  • Detect common eye conditions and refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.
  • Measure PD, fitting height, and other dispensing parameters accurately.
  • Conduct contact lens fittings, trials, and patient education (if applicable).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and prescription history.
  • Ensure all examinations follow professional and ethical standards.
Retail & Sales Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and sunglasses based on prescription, lifestyle, and budget.
  • Recommend premium lenses, lens coatings, progressive lenses, blue-light protection, photochromic lenses, and other value-added products.
  • Explain the benefits and features of various eyewear brands and products.
  • Achieve individual and store sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Upsell and cross-sell accessories, contact lenses, cleaning kits, and additional pairs.
  • Build long-term customer relationships through follow-ups and after-sales service.
Customer Service
  • Deliver a professional and personalized customer experience.
  • Handle customer queries, adjustments, and complaints effectively.
  • Follow up with customers regarding eyewear comfort and satisfaction.
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and retention.
Store Operations
  • Ensure the optical showroom is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Assist in inventory management, stock verification, and merchandising.
  • Coordinate with the lab for order processing and timely delivery.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of optical instruments and equipment.
  • Support promotional activities and in-store marketing campaigns.
Skills Required
  • Strong refraction and dispensing knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales-oriented with the ability to recommend suitable products confidently.
  • Good understanding of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and premium eyewear brands.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with optical billing/POS software.
Preferred Qualification
  • Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Optometry (D.Optom/B.Optom or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience in retail optical sales is preferred.
  • Freshers with good communication skills and a willingness to learn may also apply.

  • Accuracy of refraction and prescription dispensing.
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Achievement of individual sales targets.
  • Premium lens and eyewear conversion rate.
  • Average bill value and successful cross-selling.
