HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health,justice and hope. The Immigration Specialist is responsible for providing immigration support and advocacy to clients in our Salem, Oregon office and assist in outreach and education to the immigrant and refugee community in Oregon.

Please note this position requires demonstrated fluency (verbal and written) in both English and Spanish

  • Deliver in‑person and phone assistance, manage ongoing client cases, and schedule appointments to ensure coordinated and timely service delivery, including case management
  • Provide information and advocacy on a wide range of immigration matters, including Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, Family Reunification, and EOIR
  • Maintain accurate, detailed client files and case notes in compliance with program and legal requirements
  • Perform legal and administrative support, including document collection, drafting legal documents, translation, trial preparation, and organizing case materials; evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items
  • Assist clients with supplemental services such as fingerprinting, notary, and photos
  • Support program operations through data collection, tracking, reporting, and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of immigration law and relevant community resources; making appropriate referrals as needed
  • Conduct outreach and education to refugee and immigrant communities; demonstrate cultural humility; participate in ongoing training; and complete required accreditation and credentialing within established timelines
  • Requires strict adherence of HIPAA standards in the office workspace to ensure client confidentiality

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

  • 1 year of related experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Public Notary required within 180 or few days of hire
  • Credentials DOJ accreditation may be required depending on individual program or location requirements
  • Fluency in English and Spanish both spoken and written
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites
  • Demonstrates resilience, awareness and self‑regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers
  • Thrives in a diverse and multicultural environment; works with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end‑user experiences throughout the service lifecycle
  • Demonstrates exceptional commitment to serving and advocating for diverse and marginalized populations
  • Successfully completes tasks in an moderately noisy environment
  • Interact with others and perform tasks in‑person and through the use of technology, with moderate periods of stationary activity and minimal periods of increased physical activity
  • Moves equipment/materials weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Travels between work sites regularly/occasionally. Works in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community‑based settings, and faith‑based settings such as churches
  • Meets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements and other job‑relevant clearances as required by the State or program
