Job Duties
- Perform office and telephone reception duties, enter accurate confidential information into the local computer system.
- Process criminal, traffic and civil warrants; prepare extradition paperwork; validate misdemeanors, felonies, missing persons, missing property, Protection from Abuse and Protection from Stalking matters.
- Receive, record and process civil process papers; enter cases, accidents, traffic tickets, survey cards and field investigation cards into the local computer system.
- Complete monthly reports, process records checks, maintain Registered Offender files, and handle confidential and law‑enforcement‑sensitive information on a daily basis.
- Verify vehicle identification numbers for inspection purposes; process concealed‑carry handgun applications for the Kansas Attorney General’s office.
- Render credible courtroom testimony; operate various types of office equipment; perform general office work.
- Perform assigned administrative tasks.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
- Prior training/experience in data entry required.
- General knowledge of computer operations.
- General knowledge of office procedures.
- No felony or domestic violence convictions, including diversions and expungements.
- Serious misdemeanor convictions will be evaluated, including diversions and expungements.
Determined Work Level: Level 2 – Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but includes pushing or pulling arm or leg controls. Must be able to communicate ideas verbally and in writing, hear directions from supervisors, inmates, clients or customers, see clearly 20 feet or more, and maintain balance to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching or running.
