About the Role

As a Construction Laborer, you'll play a vital role in a wide range of construction and paving projects. You will have opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute across various tasks, adapting to the dynamic needs of our job sites. The Construction Laborer career path includes roles such as General Laborer and Paving Laborer, offering room for advancement and skill development.

Responsibilities
  • Champion a safe work environment by rigorously following all safety policies, procedures, and protocols—your safety and that of your team is our top priority.
  • Follow all company, OSHA, and MSHA regulations for safe and compliant job execution, and promptly report any issues to leadership or safety personnel.
  • Support the construction and paving crews with hands-on tasks such as shoveling, raking, operating a wheelbarrow, and directing trucks for safe and precise operations.
  • Communicate with equipment operators to ensure seamless movement and alignment of materials using hand signals and tools.
  • Execute daily tasks as directed by your Foreman, adapting quickly to the ever-changing demands of the project.
  • Operate small power tools (e.g., jackhammers) as needed, improving your technical skill set on the job.
  • Dig, spread, and level construction materials for optimal project results.
  • Move and handle materials, tools, and supplies with care and efficiency.
  • Install, relocate, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones to keep work zones safe.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance—your presence makes a difference.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned; no two days are ever the same.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction is a plus but not required—your attitude and work ethic matter most.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Commitment to following all safety requirements, procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed—your health and safety come first.
  • Flexibility to travel, work nights, weekends, and outside of your local area when the job requires it.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform manual tasks in all weather and working conditions.
