About the Role

Construction Laborer – you will support a wide range of construction and paving projects, gaining experience across various tasks and progressing toward roles such as General Laborer and Paving Laborer.

What You'll Do
  • Champion a safe work environment by following safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company regulations and promptly report issues.
  • Support construction and paving crews with tasks such as shoveling, raking, operating a wheelbarrow, and directing trucks.
  • Communicate with equipment operators to ensure seamless movement and alignment of materials.
  • Execute daily tasks as directed by the foreman, adapting quickly to changing demands.
  • Operate small power tools (e.g., jackhammers) as needed.
  • Dig, spread, and level construction materials.
  • Move and handle materials, tools, and supplies efficiently.
  • Install, relocate, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones.
  • Maintain reliable attendance.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous construction experience is a plus but not required.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Commitment to safety requirements, procedures, and PPE.
  • Flexibility to travel, work nights, weekends, and outside the local area when required.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform manual tasks in all weather conditions.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks requiring physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects up to 25-50 lbs.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Exposure to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have vision abilities to operate equipment safely.
