The Department of Integrated Studies seeks an individual passionate about teaching introductory speech courses to undergraduate students. K-State Salina recognizes that quality communication is a foundational life skill. The individual selected for this role will have the opportunity to mentor the communication growth of students both inside and outside of the classroom. As a teaching focused campus, the use of and experimentation with high impact practices are encouraged and supported through a dedication to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
Worksite Description
This position is On-site. This position is expected to engage in campus community and be present on-site. The selected candidate should expect to teach in-person classes.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's in communications studies or related discipline upon start of position or before August 2026.
The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Teaching experience in communications studies; experience as a graduate teaching assistant satisfies this requirement
* Commitment to excellence in instruction and to innovative teaching approaches
Sponsorship eligibility:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
