About This Role
The Housing & Dining Manager position is responsible for overseeing all residence life programming and activities on the KSU Salina campus.
Student Development- Selects, trains, and evaluates hourly student employees for resident life.
- Interacts with students regularly to provide information and assistance concerning academic issues, peer conflicts, personal problems, etc.
- Acts as primary contact for after‑hour crisis response and emergencies for the Salina campus, and oversees incidents within residence halls and programming specific to the communities' requirements and needs.
- Advises and trains the Hall Governing Board, and attends weekly meetings and sponsored activities.
- Oversees residence life management system including assignments, housing applications, room replacements, pet requests, break stay requests, and off campus meal plans.
- Manage Resident Life budget and website updates.
- Coordinate summer school, special group, and project groups who may require on‑campus housing arrangements.
- Maintain key inventory.
- Coordinate with fiscal services regarding student accounts, dining system meal plans, etc.
- Collaborate with staff and Student Governing Association's Programming Board on activities and programming to support entire campus community.
- Engage with students to get them involved with the campus community, identify needs and barriers to success, and help retrain students.
- Market and promote monthly Residence Life sponsored event to campus and assist Resident Assistants with their required monthly wing events along with Programming Board events.
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year of relevant experience. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Master's degree in student personnel or related area preferred.
- Experience working with on‑campus housing.
- Experience with community living, leadership development, programming, and teaching or training.
- Skills in selecting, supervising, and training student staff.
- Advising student groups.
- Ability to interact with a variety of staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with student housing operations.
- Good time management skills and ability to work with interruptions.
This position is on site.
