To provide highly specialized learning experiences and supervision to students with significant disabilities in a supportive and positive learning environment that enables each student to develop the skills and knowledge as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Qualifications and Desired Qualities- Current Kansas Teaching Licensure with Special Education Endorsement.
- Exhibits enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Provides leadership in case management of IEP teams for students with significant disabilities.
- Understands assistive technology resources used to overcome barriers created by disabilities or conditions.
- Demonstrates integrity and good character and initiative.
- Shows knowledge of child growth and development, children with disabilities, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, structured teaching, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning and exceptional needs.
