Are you passionate about helping young learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education Teacher
to join our preschool program. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of 3- and 4-year-old children and their families in a collaborative, supportive environment.

The Early Childhood Education Teacher provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool-aged students in a Head Start classroom setting. The teacher supports student growth, implements individualized instruction, and ensures compliance with federal, state, district, and program requirements.

This position serves a Head Start preschool classroom at Heartland Early Education, supporting students with and without disabilities. The program emphasizes inclusive practices, early intervention, and preparation for kindergarten readiness.

Assigned students

Early Education Classroom Engagement Support (Teacher Assistants)

• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and clearly communicate lesson objectives
• Support services aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Utilize formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
• Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior
• Ensure student safety and protect materials and facilities

• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
• Collaborate with special education teams, support staff, and service providers
• Participate in IEP meetings and consult with parents and team members regarding student progress
• Work cooperatively with colleagues on school and program initiatives

• Maintain accurate and complete student records in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials and provide documentation upon request
• Implement required curricula and frameworks
• Supervise and evaluate early education classroom engagement support staff and volunteers
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and serve on committees as required
• Maintain and improve professional competence through ongoing learning
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
• Current Kansas Teaching License

• Other related licenses, certifications, or endorsements will be considered
• Early Education degrees without licensure, with the expectation to obtain licensure
• Prior successful preschool teaching experience
• Knowledge of child growth and development and best practices in early childhood education

• Ability to create a supportive and positive learning environment
• Strong understanding of early childhood practices for all abilities
• Ability to assess student needs and use data to inform instruction
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional integrity, initiative, and strong character

• Physical and emotional ability to perform required duties
• Ability to move throughout the classroom and school environment as needed
• Competitive salary based on education, experience, and the Head Start Teacher salary schedule.
• Base pay starting at $47, 250/yr.
• Degrees without licensure are paid on the classified salary schedule at an hourly rate.
