Academic Advisor

Kansas State University is hiring an Academic Advisor to provide academic advising and student success support for prospective, new, transfer, and continuing students on its aerospace and technology campus. The advisor helps students plan coursework, track degree progress, and navigate university policies, while working with faculty and staff to improve retention, persistence, and graduation. Orientation, enrollment, and student success programming round out the work, along with proactive outreach to students who need extra academic support.

• Guide students through academic planning, course selection, and degree progress.
• Explain university policies and requirements to prospective, new, transfer, and continuing students.
• Evaluate academic records and keep student records accurate.
• Connect students with university resources and campus support services.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on student retention, persistence, and graduation.
• Contribute to orientation, enrollment, and student success programming.
• Reach out proactively to students who need additional academic support.
• Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience, plus a valid driver's license upon employment.
• Preference for two years in higher education, admissions or advising experience, familiarity with K-State Salina programs, and a related Master's degree.
• Anticipated hiring pay range of $42,216 - $51,000, depending on qualifications.
