Chart Industries is currently seeking an Advanced CNC & CAM Programmer based in Stafford, TX.
What Will You Do? CNC Programming & Validation- Develop, optimize, and validate CNC machining programs for turbo machinery components.
- Simulate toolpaths to detect and prevent errors before production.
- Ensure CAD programming aligns with manufacturability and process efficiency.
- Recommend cutting tool purchase and catalog accordingly.
- Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T, and material properties to refine programming.
- Optimize machining strategies for hard and soft material.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, tooling design, and aerospace-level tolerances.
- Check prints with design engineering for accuracy and correct information on prints.
- Verify solid models to prints and red lines back to Engineering.
- Work with design engineers to enhance CAD-based programs for production feasibility.
- Recommend fixture requirements.
- Perform machine setup, initial runs, troubleshooting, and post-machining inspections.
- Continuously improve programming strategies and material handling techniques.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required;
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline preferred. - Minimum 7 years of CNC programming; 10+ years in multi‑axis mill‑turn machinery and 5‑axis multi‑blade mill‑turn machinery using ESPRIT & Hypermill software highly preferred.
- Some experience with Solid Works/PDM.
- Ability to understand and promote safety standards and guidelines.
- Ability to communicate respectfully, orally and in writing, to build both internal and external relationships.
- Must routinely follow work orders and understand customer specifications with attention to safety and quality.
- Must be able to work weekend when needed to support our customer needs.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
