Manufacturing Engineer

Salina, KS

Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, KS is seeking an energetic, confident and detail-oriented person to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer.

This is an on‑site position at the Salina facility. The role typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Systematically drive actions and accountability to required tasks and deliverables to the predetermined program timeline.
• Drive multi‑disciplinary groups (Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering) to meet critical milestone deadlines.
• Document open issues, actions, owners and dates; drive open issues to closure to accommodate company schedules.
• Identify open issues, actions, owners and dates to review with leadership.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules and routinely report progress/concerns to management.
• Manage design review process, production preparation, production trials, etc.
• Communicate effectively and foster teamwork.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a four‑year college or university; or minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Functional discipline or operational experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Must have solid problem‑solving skills.
• Overall understanding of manufacturing timelines; project management experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with fabrication, weld, paint and assembly production processes is helpful.
