S1 Fabrication Lead – 2nd Shift

Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrication Lead for our S1 facility. This position will work M‑Th from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. with overtime on Fridays, as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
  • Monitor and manage safety, productivity, delivery, and the quality of fabricated products.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, train and promote career‑path opportunities to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews with team members.
  • Generate check fixtures, pride implements, and demonstrate a basic understanding of press‑brake programming.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Observe machine operation to detect work‑piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Monitor fabrication tasks and recommend quality‑improvement initiatives to the Fabrication Manager.
  • Aggressively pursue production due dates and the completion of hot parts.
Qualifications
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance/procedure manuals; write correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, Internet, email, spreadsheets, and other software.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
