Position: Assistant Director of Nursing (LPN)

Your Role as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – LPN)

Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – LPN) to support nursing leadership and help ensure high-quality, compliant resident care within our skilled nursing or assisted living communities.

In this role, you’ll assist with training and development of the nursing team and support the administration of the nursing program. You’ll work closely with the Director of Nursing, medical staff, department leaders, and administrators to maintain quality standards, regulatory compliance, and a collaborative, resident-centered environment.

Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – LPN) assists in the leadership, training, and supervision of the nursing department to ensure quality resident care and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards.

This role supports the administration of the nursing program, provides clinical guidance to staff, and serves as a key partner to nursing leadership by advising on matters related to nursing services, resident care, and daily operations.

This role may also be known as:

Assistant Director of Nursing (LPN), ADON (LPN), LPN Nurse Supervisor, Clinical Nurse Lead (LPN), or Assistant Nurse Manager.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with training, supervision, and development of nursing staff
  • Support the administration of the nursing program to maintain quality standards of resident care
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, CMAs, and other care team members
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Collaborate with medical staff, department heads, and administrators on matters related to nursing services
  • Support resident assessments, care planning, documentation, and monitoring of changes in condition
  • Assist with medication systems in accordance with state regulations and pharmaceutical guidelines
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and survey readiness
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and home-like environment for residents

What You Bring Education
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Licensure / Certification
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
  • Maintains current state registration and required continuing education
Experience & Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of nursing home or assisted living principles, methods, and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and narcotic protocols
  • Prior experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or long-term care preferred
Skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to support staff development and work collaboratively with leadership
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
