Nurse Educator
Clinical Faculty - School Of Nursing (Salina Campus)
The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a nurse educator for a faculty role in the baccalaureate nursing program on the Salina, Kansas campus. This part-time (12-month appointment), non-tenure earning faculty position reports to the Salina Campus Dean.
Job Duties
- Teach undergraduate nursing students in a variety of courses and settings (didactic courses, online courses, clinical settings, simulation, and clinical laboratory settings) in the undergraduate nursing program.
- Participate in ongoing course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
- Coordinate and schedule practicum/clinical requirements for Salina students.
- Collaborate with practicum/clinical sites and KU-SON Compliance office to ensure all student requirements are met for clinical placements.
- Participate in service-related activities (serving on committees/task forces, mentoring students, assigning clinical placements, etc.) to support the mission of the school.
- Collaborate with other KU nursing faculty on both campuses.
- Develop and implements special projects as necessary.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in nursing.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered nurse (RN) license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing (or be eligible for a RN license in Kansas).
Work Experience:
- One (1) year of clinical instruction experience.
- One (1) year of relevant clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Doctorate degree in nursing.
Work Experience:
- One (1) year of teaching experience in a prelicensure program.
- One (1) year of teaching experience in a simulation laboratory setting.
- Experience serving as or collaborating with clinical preceptors.
- One (1) year of healthcare experience serving rural populations.
