The Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool is responsible for delivering coordinated nursing care to patients across assigned patient care units and managing related clinical activities. This position utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based, and cost-effective care. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and may provide direction and supervision to assigned nursing personnel.
Care is delivered in accordance with organizational policies, professional standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable state nurse practice acts.
Additional $5.00 per hour

- Performs and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments to identify healthcare needs and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Administers medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders, organizational policies, and professional standards.
- Monitors patient responses to medications and treatments, communicating significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Provides leadership, oversight, and guidance to assigned nursing personnel to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
- Educates patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, procedures, discharge instructions, and health management strategies.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborates with physicians, ancillary departments, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and promote positive patient outcomes.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Floats to appropriate departments based on organizational needs, clinical competency, licensure, certifications, and demonstrated skills.
