Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Inspector is an Individual Contributor role responsible for processing and all final quality control of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. The Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections and tests on materials and components during both the manufacturing process and in the completed production state. The inspector may also perform checks in the shipping department to randomly confirm the correct completion of orders and may be asked to assist other crews when needed.
EssentialFunctions
- Review work instructions and job travelers to verify processes for accuracy
- Determine different material conditions on parts to determine their acceptability
- Assist with customer issues and customer inventories
- Able to diagnose, determine root cause and provide corrective actions on quality related problems
- Prepare, conduct and document internal audits, agenda and results, monthly
- Issue corrective actions as needed and follow up on outstanding corrective actions, monthly
- Analyze/evaluate manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities and review new processes for possible integration into systems
- Perform data gathering, analysis, and distribution of all quality related data
- Review and maintain Specification file ensuring current revision (bi-annual)
- Able to work with a diverse group of people.
The Role
- Oversee vendor’s quality approval qualification
- Maintain First Article data
- Review and approve changes, revisions, and modifications to the quality system
- Communicate quality system requirements, expectations, and goals to leads, supervisors, and managers
- Able to make independent decisions with minimal supervision
- Perform in‑house calibrations of measuring equipment and maintain calibration log
- Perform work instruction training and maintain training log
- Experience with or knowledgeable of pole production process
- Knowledge of the technological instructions for the production of poles
- Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
