Role SummaryThe Pompe / Fabry Sales Director, East will lead a team of Account Managers to achieve corporate sales objectives across the United States. The role requires strategic agility, business acumen, and strong leadership to drive revenue and unit targets while managing operating expenses.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, retain, and hire top performers.
- Develop regional and territory business plans based on revenue goals and marketing plans.
- Spend time in the field interacting with customers while coaching and developing direct reports.
- Attend brand team meetings to provide the voice of the customer and influence tactics and strategies.
- Monitor and manage cost‑center budgets and provide spending direction.
- Understand, follow, and enforce company policies, legal and regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Be available for weekend scientific conferences and patient educational events as needed.
- Provide performance reviews, assign merit increases, and implement improvement plans.
- Assist in developing incentive compensation plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Serve as a clinical data expert to guide account managers.
- Travel approximately 60% of the time to support field activities.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical/biotech experience.
- At least 6 years of biotech/specialty sales experience involving high‑value products.
- 8+ years of field sales management experience in a large geography focused on specialty sales.
- Experience hiring, building, and managing new teams for a key brand.
- Strategic thinking and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and contingency planning abilities.
- Exceptional team sales performance history.
- Experience in sales team performance management.
- Confident, influential presenter capable of engaging senior leadership.
- Willingness to travel extensively (greater than 60%).
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders (marketing, medical, operations, patient services).
- Experience in cross‑functional roles such as field reimbursement or operations.
- Participation in patient events and advocacy.
Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred locations:
New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Boston, or Charlotte (near a major airport).
