Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III – Field Service)
As a Field Diesel Mechanic, you will perform safe maintenance and repairs of complex equipment for the world’s largest equipment rental provider. You will have the opportunity to grow into higher levels of Service Technician and leadership roles.
What You’ll Do- Perform safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
- Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment and maintain the service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
- Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Perform other duties assigned as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- 3‑5years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
- Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
- Own tools applicable to the position.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45lbs.
- Position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
