The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing products at customer locations and serves as a key customer‑facing representative.
Responsibilities- Contact customers prior to service visits and coordinate travel arrangements, equipment, tools, and materials required for the project.
- Travel to customer locations to assess job requirements and determine installation or repair needs.
- Stage equipment, tools, and replacement parts while coordinating subcontractor activities as needed.
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems.
- Monitor project costs and maintain expenses within approved budgets.
- Provide daily progress updates and communicate project status to the home office.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Follow up with customers to verify equipment performance and customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–4 years of related field service, maintenance, construction, or technical experience.
- Experience coordinating field projects or construction activities preferred.
- Strong reading, writing, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Good mathematical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification, ASTM/ANSI‑AWS6‑G MIG aluminum welding certification, ClassD driver’s license (if applicable), and a current U.S. passport.
- Ability to travel approximately 50–75%, including domestic, international, and occasional extended‑stay assignments.
- Physical ability to perform standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and lifting as required for field service work.
- Capability to handle tools, operate equipment, and perform detailed repair and installation activities.
- Effective communication and ability to hear operational and safety‑related information.
- Capacity to work in indoor and outdoor environments that may include extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, moving mechanical equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and other industrial hazards.
