Westlake Pipe & Fittings is a leading manufacturer of polyvinyl chloride pipe and fittings in North America.
SUMMARYResponsible for all electrical diagnosis and repair on the given shift to include maintenance, service, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Must be able to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages.
Ability to work self‑guided and prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time.
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
- Have experience in Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Square D PLC logic programming.
- Possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
- Have experience in an industrial environment and the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.
- Be familiar with related test equipment and three‑phase 480V circuits, and experience with 480V and below.
- Be a dedicated, hard‑working self‑starter.
- Desire to have repair, installation and troubleshooting experience of commercial industry machinery, robotics, plumbing, and/or physical building structure.
- Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE required in the performance of the responsibilities.
- Work safely, maintain a clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor.
- Show willingness to work overtime as needed and to take on additional assignments requested by management.
- Maintain 5S standards.
- Serve as weekly on‑call up to six times a year.
- Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of five years’ experience in the craft; robotics background preferred.
- Associates degree in an electronic field or Journeyman’s card preferred.
- Valid Kansas Class C driver’s license required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40‑50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
