Position Overview
Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is a leading lead‑acid battery manufacturing site, producing more than 35,000 batteries per day.
CompensationStarting rate $38.35
Shift Schedule- C Shift: Day – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed
- D Shift: Night – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed
- 1st Shift
- Self‑starter with excellent problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, safety, Lockout/Tagout, and project management skills.
- Effectively troubleshoot plant and facility power from 480V three‑phase down to 5 volts DC.
- Complete electrical installations, including running conduit and pulling wire.
- Coordinate and implement maintenance training programs related to electrical and control systems.
- Identify opportunities that reduce maintenance costs and equipment downtime.
- Support new installations, improvements, and optimization projects across the plant.
- Provide programming, debugging, and troubleshooting support for factory automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, PID loops, motor control, electrical power distribution).
- Develop and implement programming modifications to improve plant performance and simplify operator intervention.
- Provide hardware and software support to the plant automation network.
- Assist in developing documentation for new and existing automation and control systems.
- Maintain current program versions for all plant automation equipment on the central controls computer drive or document management system.
- Develop and support plans to optimize, simplify, and modernize existing automation and control systems.
- Provide operational support for plant robots, machine vision, machine automations, and data collection.
- Proficient in data collection to SQL Server platform and display required information on specified platforms.
- Run conduit and pull wire as required for power distribution and controls integration.
- Participate in plant shutdown activities and perform hands‑on maintenance tasks.
- Continuous improvement of all maintenance department areas.
- Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
- Stay updated on marketplace changes and collaborate effectively with plant engineering and related departments.
- Follow Toyota Production System (TPS) objectives and support Kaizen events.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.
- Perform other work as assigned by supervisor or management personnel.

Two‑year degree from a vocational school in industrial electronics and controls or 2 years of industrial electrical and controls experience, including experience with Allen Bradley PLC products and ladder diagram logic preferred. Must possess above‑average troubleshooting skills to sustain plant production.
Equipment & ToolsKnowledge of electrical tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, amperimeter, megohmmeter, power meter, process meter, etc. Must have above‑average computer skills for report writing, presentations, spreadsheets, and project management, including Microsoft products, and be capable of accessing, modifying, and uploading PLC and Panel View programs. Familiarity with common hand tools, including power tools.
Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, bending, twisting, and walking as necessary. Wearing PPE is required. Employee must repeatedly lift and handle equipment and parts weighing from grams to 100 pounds.
