Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Health and Safety Coordinator or Enrollment Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility and Attendance (ERSEA) and Family Engagement Coordinator, the Health & Family Services Specialist carries out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement program objectives and performance standards. Assists staff in determining individual health and family needs and planning to meet those needs; monitors health and social service referrals and follow‑up.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education equivalent to high school diploma;
Any combination of post‑secondary education, training and experience equal to three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in social work, health, family services, counseling and/or human services fields. Employees hired after November 7, 2016, must have, within eighteen months of hire, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. The MCOE Early Learning Program shall provide training opportunities for the certification required.

Licenses and

Certifications:

Possess an appropriate California driver’s license with evidence of insurability. Passing score on the MCOE Spanish language competency test.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in a public education environment;
Coursework in Early Childhood Education. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a CTC‑approved agency to determine the equivalent U.S. degree and major, and the Foreign Transcript Evaluation must be attached to your application before your application will be considered.
