Role Description The Admissions Representative is a full-time, on-site role based at Central Coast College in Salinas, CA. This position is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, including responding to inquiries, conducting campus tours, and explaining program offerings and admissions requirements. The role involves meeting with prospective students and their families, assessing their needs and goals, and providing clear information about educational pathways and career outcomes.
The Admissions Representative will follow up with leads, maintain accurate records in admissions systems, and support applicants with paperwork, financial aid referrals, and enrollment procedures. The role also includes collaborating with academic and administrative staff, participating in outreach events, and contributing to enrollment targets in a professional, student-centered manner.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to build rapport with prospective students and provide a supportive admissions experience.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including the ability to explain programs, policies, and requirements in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, including consultative inquiry follow-up and the ability to guide prospective students toward appropriate programs and enrollment decisions.
- Candidates should possess Training skills to effectively educate prospective students about college resources, processes, and expectations.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with admissions or higher education environments, proficiency with CRM or student information systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work in a goal-driven setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education or prior experience in admissions, advising, or customer-facing roles is preferred.
