Position Snapshot

Location: Salinas, CA

Position: Special Education Teacher

Schedule: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Contract Length: 9 Months

Start Date: September 2026

What You'll Do
  • Delivering specialized instruction and academic support
  • Collaborating with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting IEP implementation and student progress monitoring
  • Creating inclusive learning opportunities for diverse learners
  • Providing consultation and instructional strategies to school staff
  • Building meaningful relationships with students and families
Education

This position supports elementary schools district-wide
, allowing you to impact multiple campuses and collaborate with a variety of educational teams.

We're Looking For
  • Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Credential Holders
  • BCLAD Certification Required (Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development)
  • Must be appropriately credentialed and verified through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
  • Passion for supporting diverse learners and inclusive educational practices
  • Student & Classroom Environment

Local Compensation

$60/Hour

Competitive compensation available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Active California Special Education Credential
  • BCLAD Authorization Required
  • One Year of Teaching Experience Preferred
  • Current CPR (if applicable)
  • Compliance with all state, district, and federal requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
  • State Teacher Certification;
    Type:
    Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification;
    Type:
    Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification;
    Type:
    Standard Special Teaching preferred
  • Endorsement:
    Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
