Under the direction of the Engineering and Environmental Compliance Manager, this role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving solid waste systems, including landfills, transfer stations, and household hazardous waste facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment to perform maintenance and repairs at landfill facilities
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe operations and environmental compliance
• Monitor and maintain critical systems such as liner systems, leachate collection, stormwater runoff, groundwater wells, and landfill gas systems
• Perform environmental sampling (stormwater, groundwater, soils)
• Inspect construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications
• Coordinate with contractors and communicate with property owners regarding project impacts
• Support winterization efforts and facility upkeep
• Perform general maintenance, minor construction, and earthwork tasks
