VP​/Director of Finance

Description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic VP/Director of Finance to join our team in Hybrid Schedule position based in Salinas, California. In this role, you will oversee financial operations, drive strategic planning, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the mission-driven goals of our organization.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage the organization's annual budget, aligning financial goals with strategic objectives.

- Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate accounting practices.

- Lead the implementation and optimization of budgeting systems and financial automation tools.

- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

- Monitor and forecast cash flow to support organizational sustainability and growth.

- Analyze and allocate costs effectively to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations while maintaining adherence to accounting standards.

- Collaborate across departments to align financial strategies with overall organizational goals.

- Drive strategic decision-making by interpreting complex financial data and presenting actionable insights.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least 7 years of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.

- Extensive knowledge of general accounting principles, including budgeting, cost accounting, and tax regulations.

- Proven success in implementing enterprise-wide financial systems and data platforms.

- Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with experience translating financial strategies into operational models.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

- Passion for mission-driven work and commitment to advancing organizational goals.
