Title: Financial Analyst - FP&A

Salary Range: $81,000 - $86,000 Annually

Status: Exempt

Location: Salinas, CA

Reports to: Finance Manager

The Financial Analyst role provides crucial financial support to key teams within the Bud Antle organization, helping drive profitable growth for both the company and its customers. This position is a key support for corporate planning functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Analyze key variances between actual and forecasted expenses, provide actionable recommendations to improve expense management.
• Serve as a key financial resource for business partners, supporting Operational Excellence objectives.
• Partner with department heads to identify cost optimization and efficiency improvements in SMG&A expenses.
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual SMG&A reports for senior management, highlighting key insights, trends, and variances.
• Develop and publish a periodic internal management reporting package (Tuesday Package) and, when needed, a weekly flash report with key metrics.
• Research and investigate variances, analyze balances, pinpoint drivers, spot trends, and correct errors or discrepancies.
• Accept new opportunities, set expectations, empower others to problem‑solve, and demonstrate good judgment to deliver timely results.
• Execute special projects and provide ad‑hoc analysis as directed.

• 2–3 years of financial reporting and cost accounting experience; agriculture experience is helpful.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, MATCH, INDEX, Power Pivot, Power Query, and database management for data quality and integrity.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and DAX language preferred.
• Strong drive to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross‑department communication and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with mainframe systems such as J.D. Edwards or equivalent planning tools.
• Language:

  Spanish knowledge helpful.
• Strong research skills, punctuality, independent and teamwork abilities, and adherence to posted work rules and procedures.

• Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear.
• Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.

• Ability to work beyond regular business hours, including weekends, during period close and final budget cycle weeks.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is required.
