Assistant General Manager

Residence Inn Salinas Monterey, an extended-stay Marriott hotel, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support day-to-day operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role helps lead front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams, ensuring Marriott brand standards, safety, and cleanliness. The Assistant GM assists with staffing, training, scheduling, and performance feedback, while supporting budgeting, cost controls, and revenue opportunities.

You'll model a guest-first, team-oriented culture and help create a welcoming, home-like environment for business and leisure travelers.

Responsibilities

• Support General Manager in daily hotel operations and leadership
• Oversee front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams
• Ensure exceptional guest service and promptly resolve issues
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, and payroll review
• Monitor room inventory, occupancy, and revenue opportunities
• Maintain Marriott brand and Residence Inn standards and procedures
• Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance feedback
• Help manage budgets, cost controls, and vendor relationships
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance on property
• Assist with local marketing, guest loyalty programs, and reporting
