This position is responsible for inspecting, reworking, and packing bags/trays of product to achieve daily production standards while producing safe quality food (SQF).

• Remove bags or trays of salad from the conveyor and place them into boxes.
• When working on the tray line area, place tubs on the conveyor belt, add lids on the tubs or place tubs into the boxes.
• Check foreign objects, verify bag codes, and ensure expiration dates are accurate.
• Rework products as necessary; move between assigned areas throughout the day.
• Meet the standards for each area, including the required number of bags or trays packed within a specified time.
• Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor, which may include stacking boxes of salad on skids, printing and applying labels, forming boxes, and maintaining good housekeeping practices.

• Experience: Previous experience in a food processing facility is preferred but not required. Training is available. A general understanding of plant operations and various departments is beneficial.
• Skills: Good communication skills are essential. Ability to be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative is necessary. Candidates must learn new tasks quickly and be willing to cross train within the packaging area.
• Additional: Must be able to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented food processing environment. Ability to work independently with limited supervision is required. Regular and acceptable attendance is expected, along with following instructions, interacting well with coworkers, and adhering to posted work rules and procedures.

• Work is conducted in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34
  
  F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees must wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Workers must be able to lift up to 10 lbs unassisted for up to one-third of the workday and lift 6 lbs overhead as necessary. Position requires constant standing on a concrete floor, with reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements.
  
  Additionally, moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate vicinity.

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts preferred/required.

• A high school diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform the required tasks is necessary.
