Smart Cutter Operator (Optical Sorter)

Reports to: Manager, Production

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems. The position interacts routinely with all areas of production as well as materials, maintenance, and quality assurance. Routine manufacturing shifts and hours will apply.

Position is considered safety sensitive which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen.

• Manage raw material product flow through ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems and other assigned areas
• Maintain quality of product passing through ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems in accordance with company established standards
• Manage sanitation requirements for ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems
• Perform and maintain operational requirements for ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems
• Perform required PM's and select maintenance of ART, SMART, and OPTYX systems
• Operate and troubleshoot technical equipment and machinery across all production areas as needed
• Handle multiple lines and multitask as needed
• Any and all other duties assigned by Supervisor

Work is performed in an environment with an average temperature of 34°F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present in the workplace. Work surfaces and floors are wet. All employees are required to wear protective gear, including ear plugs, hair net, smocks, gloves, and protective eyewear. Must be able to work standing on a hard floor surface for the entire period of the shift.

Constant reaching and stretching overhead, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required throughout the shift. Moving machinery, including conveyor belts and forklifts, are in operation in the immediate area.

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts.

HS Diploma or GED required
