- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- Registered Nurse License in the State of California.
- Orthopedic Nurse Certification from Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board or other relevant specialty certification.
Certification Details
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the joint replacement population from pre-operative class to recovery.
- Facilitates and coordinates care for patients scheduled for joint replacement surgery through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to nursing process.
- Assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of programs supporting Joint Replacement Program certification.
- Develops, manages, implements, and evaluates the Joint Replacement program in coordination with the Program committee.
- Assists patients in understanding treatment and recovery, providing follow-up support to improve quality of life.
- Provides psychosocial and emotional support to joint replacement patients and their families.
- Works closely with medical staff to coordinate timely care.
- Assists in developing educational materials for patients, families, and clinical staff in collaboration with Education Department and Joint Certification committee.
- Attends and participates in Joint Certification Meetings and related committees/taskforces.
- Offers pre-operative class education to prepare patients for surgery and after-care.
Job Details
- Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience.
- Epic experience required: minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months within the past year.
- Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) Disease-Specific and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively utilize equipment and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with clients, physicians, co-workers, and the community.
- Strong collaborative work style.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Job Requirements
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm shift.
- 8 hours per day.
- 40 hours per week.
Schedule Information
- Previous program development and implementation experience preferred.
- Recent experience in orthopedics preferred.
- Preferred certification:
Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner certification.
