RN – Labor & Delivery (Acute Care)

Salinas, CA | Acute Care

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | 36 Hours/Week | 8-Week Assignment

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed LDR unit, 2 triage bays (serving as pre-op for C-sections), 2 ORs, and 2 PACU beds
• Manage high-risk obstetric patients including those on magnesium or insulin drips, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio per AWHONN staffing standards
• Follow the patient through the entire care continuum for scheduled C-sections, from pre-op through sign-off
• Perform fetal surveillance monitoring using OBIX system; chart via Meditech (PCS for L&D ORM for Surgical)
• Participate in procedures including external versions and second-trimester cerclages (day shift only)
• Administer medications via Pyxis and manage IV therapy using Solaris pumps

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• BLS and ACLS certifications issued through the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
• Willingness to work 3–4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule

• Prior experience with high-risk obstetric populations, including diabetic patients
• Familiarity with Meditech (PCS/ORM) and OBIX fetal surveillance systems
• Experience in a Level II Trauma or teaching hospital environment

• Work in the only trauma center serving Monterey County and surrounding communities, within a recognized regional hospital offering a structured orientation program and scrubs provided for travelers
