The Meat Clerk is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining the presentation of the meat department, and assisting with inventory and stocking.

• Greet and assist customers in selecting meat products.
• Prepare ground meat using a meat grinder.
• Package, label, and display meat products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic understanding of meat products and cuts.
• Familiarity with retail stocking procedures and inventory management.
• Knowledge of food‑handling health and safety regulations.
• Excellent customer‑service and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills for weighing and pricing.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to adjust to changing situations and manage multiple demands.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.

• Stand and walk for 8‑hour shifts.
• Lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, handling small objects.
• Maintain physical stamina in a fast‑paced environment.

• Work hours vary; weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
• Indoor, climate‑controlled environment; may be damp or humid, wet or slippery floors.
• Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals.
• Low to moderate noise; occasional loud periods.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Previous retail or customer‑service experience a plus.
