Receiving Supervisor.
The primary responsibility of this position is to operate a forklift for loading, unloading, moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
Responsibilities- Drive and operate a forklift.
- Conduct equipment inspections and check arriving trailers for potential contaminants.
- Perform daily inventories and maintain traceability documentation.
- Ensure that the trailer s outside seal is intact and that the temperature is within specifications.
- Complete all required paperwork.
- Unload trailers, weigh loads, and rotate raw materials according to FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Supply raw materials and packaging to production areas as needed.
- Be vigilant for any foreign objects and inspect boxes or contents for damage.
- Work safely around equipment and machinery.
- Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
- Willing to follow PPE protocol (hairnet, hardhat, gloves, smock/safety vest).
- Jewelry is not permitted on production floors.
- EXPERIENCE: Previous experience and a forklift license are required. A written and driving test will be conducted to assess experience levels.
- Skills: Strong oral communication skills.
- ADDITIONAL: Must have the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Should be capable of working independently with limited supervision. Regular and acceptable attendance is required, along with the ability to follow directions, interact positively with co-workers, and understand and adhere to posted work rules and procedures.
- Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Approved shoes and personal protective equipment are required. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted for up to half of the workday and lift 25 kg overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
Moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate area. - Workplace may contain common allergens (Milk, Peanuts, Egg, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soybeans, Sesame, Mustard, and Sulfites).
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts is preferred or required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must complete the required forklift certification.
