Independent Living - Life Skills Coach
Position Type: Part‑time |
Location: Salinas, California |
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm |
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Pay: $21 per hour |

About the Role: Join Spread Your Wings, LLC – ILS Services as a Life Skills Mentor/Coach and support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and confidence in their daily lives.
Responsibilities:- Coach clients on building independent living skills (e.g., cooking, budgeting, hygiene)
- Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges
- Help plan, create, and organize weekly goals and schedules that work for your clients
- Provide consistent documentation of progress through case notes and quarterly reports
- Spend about 90% of your time in the field with clients and 10% on administrative tasks and documentation
- Collaborate with program managers, regional center coordinators, and training staff
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to work and commute in and around the Salinas areas
- Ability to pass a background check (per state industry standards)
- Computer literacy: MS Word, email, basic data entry
- Heart for helping others and belief in treating people with dignity and respect
- Strong communicator, dependable, and creative problem‑solver
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs
- Comfortable working independently in one‑on‑one settings with clients
- Behavioral health experience (preferred, not required)
