NCI Affiliates, Inc. (NCI) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their personal and professional goals. As a Direct Support Professional in Salinas/Monterey, you will play a vital role in supporting clients as they develop valuable job skills and gain independence. This position offers hands‑on experience in a variety of work settings, including janitorial, yard work, and retail, depending on program needs.

- Provide direct support and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities in workplace settings.
- Assist clients in developing job skills and overcoming employment barriers.
- Guide and encourage clients through tasks such as janitorial, yard work, or retail duties.
- Offer constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to enhance client performance.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all individuals served.
- Collaborate with team members to meet program goals and uphold contract expectations.
- Represent NCI Affiliates professionally when interacting with community partners and employers.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Must have a personal vehicle, a valid California driver’s license, and current state‑required auto insurance.
- Ability to complete First Aid and CPR training.
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, twist, walk, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, compassion, and a commitment to supporting others.
- Flexible scheduling with weekday and/or weekend shifts up to 28 hours per week.
- Team‑oriented environment with opportunities for professional growth and support.
