The Opportunity

We are looking for a Regional Transportation & Solicitation Manager who is organized, analytical, and solutions-oriented to lead transportation and donor services operations across the Central Coast, ensuring efficient logistics, exceptional donor service, regulatory compliance, and safe, effective operations. This is an opportunity to lead and develop a team, optimize transportation and donation operations, use data to drive improvements, and strengthen the donor experience while contributing to a mission that matters.

Qualifications
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, and fleet management, including oversight of vehicle maintenance, inspections, regulatory compliance, GPS/fleet monitoring systems, routing, and fleet performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to develop, coach, train, and hold employees accountable for performance, safety, and service expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations and applicable local, state, and federal requirements, with a commitment to maintaining safe and compliant fleet operations.
  • Strong analytical and operational problem-solving skills, with the ability to use transportation, fleet, and donation data to identify trends, optimize routes, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, donors, and the public while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with employees, leadership, donors, vendors, and the public.
What You'll Do
  • Lead regional transportation, fleet, and donor services operations across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo Counties, ensuring efficient, reliable, and responsive service.
  • Oversee fleet management and compliance, including vehicle and trailer maintenance, required inspections, preventive maintenance records, GPS monitoring, accident investigations, and adherence to applicable California and federal transportation requirements.
  • Optimize transportation logistics and daily operations, including routing, staffing, home and commercial donation pickups, store deliveries, ADC swaps, trailer servicing, and special collection events.
  • Use operational, fleet, and donation data to drive performance, analyzing trends, pickup effectiveness, donor opportunities, transportation reports, and other metrics to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and service.
  • Lead, develop, and hold transportation and donor services teams accountable for performance, safety, service, and compliance while supporting strategic initiatives and departmental budget goals.
