Position: Preschool 3 Lead Teacher

St. Andrew Catholic School in Saline, Michigan is a PreK through eighth grade school that opened in the 2023-24 school year. We are seeking teachers who are passionate about providing authentic faith formation for our students.

The school seeks a lead teacher for the three-year-old preschool room.

Essential Functions

Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.

Work with the preschool team to develop fun and interactive learning experiences for students.

Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments.

Foster joyful order in the classroom and school.

Help inspire in students a sense of wonder and a love of learning.

Form students and call them to virtuous living.

Work with school leadership in professional development with the goal of improving in the craft of teaching.

Partner with parents in providing a nurturing Catholic environment focused on academic excellence.

Support and uphold the values of Catholic education and the mission of the school.

Supports and adheres to the Staff Covenant and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • A valid child development associate credential, Montessori credential, infant family associate credential, or associate degree or higher in any field of study.
  • Minimum one year experience as a lead teacher
  • 3 hours of Mi Registry approved training in each of the following areas:
    • Program management.
    • Observation, documentation, and assessment.
    • Teaching and learning.
  • 6 hours of Mi Registry approved training in any of the following areas:
    • Interactions and guidance.
    • Challenging behaviors.
    • Trauma informed practices.
  • Agreement with and support of the Catholic worldview
  • A strong commitment to Catholic education
  • Participation in the VIRTUS child protection program will also be required of the successful applicant.
