Liberty Club Program Assistant
Liberty Club is a community-based program to promote continuous learning and social interaction for adults with disabilities. The program is designed to continue to develop skills as building blocks for living safely and more independently in our community.
Job Goal:
To create and be a part of an interactive environment that provides participants with exposure to a variety of instructional experiences. These may/may not include:
- History
- Life skills math
- World news
- What is trending (style, art, music, etc.)
- Health
- Trying new foods/cooking
- Art (painting, adult coloring, clay, etc.)
- Vocabulary building (introduction to new words)
- Giving back to the community (meals on wheels, paper pantry, etc.)
We are committed to exploring new ways of thinking and expanding the capabilities of our staff and participants.
Reports to:
Director, Community Education;
Liberty Club Program Leadership Coordinators
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Passes annual CPR/First Aid Training
- Holds a valid chauffeur's license from the State of Michigan
- Submits to quarterly driver's license checks by employer; must have a clean driving record
- Is certified in required areas/training that will be outlined based on compliance with Medicaid
- Possesses a sense of humor
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervision of participants
- Driving LC programs' vans with participants (a chauffeur's license is required)
- Implementing a daily schedule
- Providing recreational activities
- Set-up/clean-up for daily events
- Housekeeping tasks
You will perform duties necessary to support the participants who need assistance with daily life/health-related activities as assigned by the LC Program and driven by the individual IPOS (the individualized plan of service). You will support a Liberty Club climate that is conducive to learning/socializing and appropriate to the age, maturity, and needs of the participants.

Rate: $17.50 per hour
Terms of Employment: 4 days per week, Monday-Thursday. 8:30 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. year round - flexible schedule available
