Literacy Tutor
To provide literacy (and sometimes math) intervention to students in a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). This is a part-time position, 4-5 hours per day (Monday-Friday). The primary responsibility is to support students in need of extra literacy intervention within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). A building administrator and MTSS Coordinator work closely with this position to develop a consistent routine.

QualificationsRequired Education/Certification
- High school graduate; college degree preferred.
Required Experience
- Experience in working with elementary students; reading background preferred.
- Administer assessments to students for purposes of screening and monitoring progress.
- Collaborate with staff to plan for interventions and problem-solve using student achievement data.
- Implement research-based literacy interventions to students within the classroom or during "intervention/extension" time (Best Fit time) when all students within a grade level are regrouped according to need/level.
- Attend meetings (with building teams and district-wide) for planning and continuous training.
- This position may also involve providing limited math support and academic accommodations.
- Use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Organize and coordinate work.
- Develop and implement projects.
- Effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
- Engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Work in standard office and school building environments requiring mobility, visual and auditory acuity, communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, technology proficiency, physical stamina and environmental awareness.

- Ten-month, school-year position
- 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week with specific hours to be set by employer
Pay Rate
Starting at $19.50/hour, commensurate with experience
