Finance Intern; Summer

MMI Engineered Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Intern to join our team for a paid internship. This role offers real-world exposure to accounting operations, financial systems, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll support both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions while contributing to key finance projects that directly impact business performance.

• Exposure to ERP systems including IQMS and Excel-based reporting

• Experience with AP/AR processing, invoice matching, and discrepancy resolution

• Hands-on involvement in a Finished Goods Inventory on Hand analysis project

• Participation in an AR Scanning & digitization improvement initiative

• Experience supporting pricing validation within IQMS

• Mentorship from experienced finance professionals in a manufacturing environment

• Assist in processing AP paperwork from completion through check run

• Assist in processing AR invoicing paperwork for U.S. Component Products

• Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and receipts

• Monitor and research discrepancies within AR & AP and follow up with responsible departments

• Support the Finished Goods Inventory on Hand analysis initiative

• Assist with the AR Scanning Project to improve document management efficiency

• Support IQMS pricing data review and validation

• Contact customers regarding accounts outside of payment terms

• Communicate with customers when remittances do not align with purchase orders

• Collect data and prepare monthly metrics as needed

• Support other accounting and finance projects as necessary

• Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new systems

• Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

• Professional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong work ethic and proactive problem-solving ability

• Office Environment with fluorescent lighting in a cubical.

• Occasional limited time in the manufacturing environment - following all Safety Procedures/Policies

• Gain hands-on experience in real-world finance and accounting processes

• Work directly with finance professionals and cross-functional operations teams

• Develop practical skills in AP/AR, inventory analysis, and ERP systems
