Our Saline plant is currently seeking a 2nd shift Injection Mold Technician to join our team. The Mold Technician will be responsible for the set-up, testing, and preventative maintenance on injection molding machines.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure all mold tools are properly set, pulled out of the molding machines in a safe manner, and placed neatly in their proper storage area and be able to troubleshoot any minor issues.
- Ensures that all auxiliary items are maintained, fast heat controllers are functioning properly and that all mold setup positions and limits are correct upon completion of mold installation.
- Assists with or adjusts and documents molding conditions such as temperature, pressure, feed, times, etc. to correct complex deficiencies in part quality.
- Assist or perform setup of robotic automation to ensure product quality and machine uptime are maximized and waste is eliminated.
- Responsible for changing, servicing, and repairing end of arm tools (EOATs) and loading robot programs at mold change.
- Responsible for maintaining daily records of tool changes and logging pre-heats of mold tooling on the applicable file and/or log.
- Ensures the process tracking sheet is completed for each job that is currently running (each shift).
- Coordinates daily priorities with the Production Supervisor, Team Leader and Central Load on press start up, shutdown, and mold change priority as well as communicate daily issues to next shift Mold Technicians.
- Ensures that cycle times are correct as recorded on the applicable process sheet and process is running within the defined limits.
- Operate Forklift, Overhead Crane, and Aerial Lifts as needed.
- Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, policies and procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Basic computer skills, including P.C. knowledge and current technology software familiarity.
- Ability to use various types of tools and equipment necessary (manual, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.)
- Mechanical ability;
Lock Out/Tag Out process knowledge
- 1 or more years working experience in industrial / injection mold, repair, maintenance and/or robotics.
