SMT Operator Level 2

Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a SMT Operator Level 2!

We are seeking an experienced SMT Operator Level 2 to independently set up, operate, and maintain Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient, high-quality manufacturing by monitoring production, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate SMT production equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens
Monitor production runs, respond to alarms, and perform startup/shutdown procedures
Load, verify, and manage materials using setup sheets and Bills of Materials (BOM)
Perform line changeovers and make minor machine adjustments to maintain production flow
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate production records, including yields, defects, and downtime
Follow work instructions, IPC standards, and ESD/MSD handling requirements to ensure product quality

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2-4 years of SMT operator experience
Understanding of SMT equipment operation
Ability to identify different electronic components.
Basic knowledge of the printing and soldering processes.
Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
Familiarity with reading blueprints, diagrams, and processing documentation.
Ability to read and follow work instructions in English
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
