Dishwasher

Job Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dining environment. This includes washing and sanitizing all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, removing trash, and assisting with general cleaning duties to support smooth dining services for residents.

• Wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans.
• Clean and maintain the dishwashing area, including draining and cleaning the dishwasher, sinks, mats, and surrounding surfaces.
• Sweep and mop dish room, kitchen, and storage area floors.
• Take out garbage and clean garbage cans daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of beverage bar, coffee pots, and related equipment.
• Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation standards.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning tasks such as organizing supplies, wiping surfaces, and cleaning equipment.
• Perform other cleaning or support duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Handlers/Serve Safe certification preferred.
• Must follow all state and local health, safety, and infection control practices.

• Fast-paced kitchen and dining setting in a senior care facility.
• Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, hot water, and kitchen equipment.
• May be exposed to blood borne pathogens in accordance with universal precautions.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members in a senior care environment.
• Prior food service or dishwashing experience preferred, but not required.
